Obituary: Nina Jean Townsley

Nina Jean Townsley, 92, of Cave City, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Cave City, Arkansas. She was born August 19, 1931, in Grange, Arkansas to Vernor Cooper and Eulala Pinkston. She was a homemaker and a member of the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Kennard Townsley; four brothers, Clifton Cooper, Alton Cooper, John Cooper and Arthur Thomas Cooper; and three sisters, Alla May Cooper, Ruby Rychtarik and Imalene Thacker.

Survivors include four sons, Harrison Townsley (Faye), Jerry Townsley (Karen), Bobby Townsley and David Townsley; one daughter, Katherine Martin (Jamie); one brother, Leland Cooper; three sisters, Lorene Burge, Bonnie Byrd (Michael) and Betty James (Michael); 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City, Arkansas with Dennis Gay and Tracy Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Cave City Nursing Home and Legacy Hospice for their care.
