A Batesville man walked away empty-handed after allegedly attempting to rob a North Central Avenue convenience store at gunpoint.

According to court information, Christopher Brayden Dickinson (pictured below), 21, walked into the Littlefield Express at 790 North Central Ave. on Oct. 16 around 10 p.m. and attempted to rob the store at gunpoint. The court documents said the store clerk activated the emergency alarm and raised her hands. Dickinson’s arrest affidavit said when he realized the clerk wasn’t going to give him the money, he put the gun away and ran out the front door.

After an investigation by the Batesville Police Department, Dickinson was identified by the store clerk in a photo lineup of suspects. The affidavit said Dickinson told authorities he went to the business and attempted the armed robbery. The affidavit also said he pointed to an image of the robber from the store’s security footage and told Batesville Police investigators, “That’s me.”

Dickinson was arrested and charged with felony aggravated robbery with a firearm. His bond was set at $150,000.
