Bay V. Nguyen, 86, of Batesville passed away on November 1, 2023.
He was born on January 1, 1937, in Quang Nam, Vietnam to Nguyen van Quac and Nguyen Thi Duyen.
While in a refugee camp in Indonesia in 1979, his wife, Nuoi Thi Tran passed away, leaving Bay with their eight children. The First Presbyterian Church sponsored him and his children so they could arrive in the U.S. the same year. Bay has since lived in Batesville until his passing. He was a hard worker and was devoted to his family. He loved to fish and was even a commercial fisherman in Vietnam. Bay worked at the local poultry factory. He also served in the South Vietnam Army during Vietnam.
Survivors include four sons, Ken Nguyen of Texas, Nen Nguyen of Oklahoma, Hung Nguyen, of Texas, Thanh Nguyen of Texas; four daughters, To Nguyen of Arkansas, En Pham of Arkansas, Yen Nguyen of Texas, Anh Nguyen of Texas; twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nuoi Thi Tran.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Nguyen, Kevin Nguyen, Vinh Nguyen, Binh Nguyen, Hung Nguyen, and Thanh Nguyen.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home before service.
