Patsy Ruth (Bailey) Pankey of Newport, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born November 5, 1938, in Tuckerman, the daughter of Walter Wallace and Mamie (Sornson) Bailey.
Mrs. Pankey was a high school graduate of Tuckerman. She married Mr. Wallace Pankey in 1974. Mrs. Pankey was a retired local business owner, working alongside her husband. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Most of all, Mrs. Pankey loved being a Mom and Maw Maw, and cherished spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Pankey; one son, James “Hobo” Canard; one daughter, Barbara Canard; one brother, James Bailey; and her parents.
Mrs. Pankey is survived by one daughter, Janice Canard Kendrick; one sister, Helen Brock of Hamlet, Indiana; four grandchildren, Derek Canard and wife, Beth of Jonesboro, Eli Dillon Canard and wife, April, of Pocahontas, Stephen Stewart and wife, Jenny, of Jonesboro, and Wesley Howard of Tuckerman; eight great-grandchildren, Aidan Canard, Rylie Canard, Zoey Stewart, Eryka Garrett, Maci Canard, Ben Prevo, Logan Prevo, and Madison Howard; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit the funeral home, on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Gracelawn Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Derek Canard, Aidan Canard, Eli Dillon Canard, Stephen Stewart, and Wesley Howard.
