The United Way of North Central Arkansas’s Angel Tree project is underway.
Each October, the Department of Human Services receives applications for underprivileged children of Independence County for the Angel Tree. The United Way collects the information, and names are distributed to various organizations and individuals who can then make gift or monetary donations.
The previous year, Angel Tree helped to bring Christmas to over 400 children, and this year, that number is anticipated to exceed 400.
The names of these children will be available for pick up from the following locations:
- Bank of Cave City
- Centennial Bank’s main branch
- Citizens Bank’s main branch
- First Community Bank’s main branch
- Merchants and Planters (Harrison Street location)
Names can be picked up between Nov. 13 and Dec. 11. This year, Southern Bank will be a drop-off location for extra toys.
Checks can be made to the Angel Tree Project and sent to the United Way of North Central Arkansas; PO Box 2639; Batesville, AR; 72503, to make a monetary donation.
