The Batesville Fire Department said controlling a gas leak and the resulting fire prompted authorities to shut down a portion of Ramsey Street in Batesville on Wednesday.
Yesterday afternoon on its Facebook page, the department posted images from the scene, directly behind the Ozark Mountain Poultry plant and in front of White River Distributors, as the busy industrial area was evacuated and traffic diverted.
The department, utility crews, and other emergency personnel were at the location until late Wednesday night, when reports say the fire was extinguished.
No injuries were reported.
