A recent report by Replica, a mobility analytics platform, revealed that Benton County leads Arkansas in electric vehicle (EV) adoption, with an estimated 63 EV miles driven per 1,000 residents on a typical weekday in the second quarter of 2023.
Arkansas County followed closely with 60 EV miles driven per 1,000 residents, while Pulaski County rounded out the top three with 54 EV miles per 1,000 residents.
Independence County and Stone County saw lower EV adoption rates, with 19 and 34 EV miles driven per 1,000 residents, respectively.
The report, first shared by Axios NW Arkansas, reflects Arkansas’s EV usage. Fueled by a $54 million investment from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure plan, the state aims to expand its EV charging network with stations located every 50 miles along Arkansas interstates.
Despite the growing popularity of EVs nationwide, automakers are still facing challenges in meeting their EV sales goals, leading to some companies restructuring their electric vehicle ambitions.
