Obituary: Nadine “Whitfield” Amick

Nadine “Whitfield” Amick, 85, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away December 13th, 2023, peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 30th, 1938, in Mountain View, Arkansas to John and Agusta “Gaylor” Whitfield.

Nadine was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, painting, and gambling. She also had a deep love for raising her Poodles. In her early years, Nadine, had a dream of coming back to Mountain View and starting a farm. She and her late husband began with two chicken houses, and later they would add two more houses. Today, her family is carrying on the legacy of farming. She was loved and appreciated by many people and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Johnny and Belinda Amick of Mountain View, Arkansas, Annette Amick of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Jackie Brokaw of Cave City, Arkansas; three sisters, Joyce King of Mountain View, Arkansas, Jodi Caulkins of Conway, Arkansas, and Imogene Edwards of Mountain View, Arkansas; four brothers, Heulan (Joanne) Whitfield of Mountain View, Arkansas, Donald (Lisa) Whitfield of Mountain View, Arkansas, Johnal Whitfield of Fort Worth, Texas, and Doug (Linda) Whitfield of Mountain View, Arkansas. Nadine is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Nadine was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Leon Amick; parents, John and Agusta Whitfield; two sisters, Joy Simpson and Judy Nation; one brother, Pete Whitfield; and one grandson, John Henry Amick.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 11:00 am Friday, December 15th, 2023, at the Mountain View Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Joseph Blake will officiate the service. Interment will take place at Flatwoods Cemetery, in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Tommy Reed, Tyler Hodges, Casey Tucker, Doug Whitfield, Donald Whitfield, and Gage Brothers.
