Marcus Dean Jones, of Mountain View, was born June 16, 1947, and died peacefully, at his home, on December 16, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Laing Jones; two children, Guy Jones III of Conway, AR, and Amanda Jones Lucas of Oakland, CA, six grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Floney Jones; brothers, Chester, Earl, Bobby, Dickey, and Jack; two sisters, Patsy and Nancy.
Marcus graduated from Newport High School where he played football and basketball. He attended the University of Central Arkansas and then served in the US Army from 1967-69. He had a successful rodeo career riding saddle broncos, bareback broncs, and bulls. He was employed by Adams Pest Control until he started his own business, The Outsider. He retired in 2015 and enjoyed life at his home on the White River.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
