A Searcy man died early Saturday morning in a one-vehicle accident.
The Arkansas State Police Preliminary Fatality Report said Lemar Nicholson, 39, died when his southbound Infinity QX56 SUV struck a tree on North Maple Street in Searcy.
The report said Nicholson apparently failed to maintain control of the SUV as it was traveling at a high rate of speed. The SUV left the roadway and collided with the tree.
Nicholson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report said the weather was rainy, and the road was wet at the time of the accident, reported to be 2:41 a.m.
