T.J. Pugh, athletic director and football coach for the Midland School District, was recently named as the recipient of the December “Shine Like a Mustang” award from Citizens Bank.

In a release, the bank said Coach Pugh “…consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the school grounds and athletic facilities are in pristine condition. On top of that, his service to the Midland mission shines through his constant encouragement to his students, motivating them to do their best in sports, school, and life.”

With this program, Citizens Bank and Midland School District aim to recognize staff members who shine in their role as a Mustang to live out the district’s vision “…to engage learning at high levels and embrace challenges without fear of failure.”

Staff nominate the award recipients who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Midland School Board meeting each month.
