Marion County man arrested after stabbing death of nephew

A Marion County man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the Christmas night stabbing death of his nephew.

According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, Stephen R. Fitzpatrick (pictured below), 67, of Everton, Ark., was arrested after his nephew, Lucas Cody Jewell, 43, of Yellville, was found deceased at a residence on Marion County Road 5013 late Monday night.

The sheriff said Jewell’s body had what appeared to be a stab wound. After interviews and processing of the scene, the Marion County Coroner pronounced Jewell dead, and the body was transferred to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Stephen R. Fitzpatrick is being held at the Marion County Jail on a bond of $150,000.
