Joe Wesley Hogan, 78, of Newport departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born in Star City, Arkansas on September 18, 1945, to Jasper Newton and Margaret Irene (Allman) Hogan.
Joe, a loving father and a dedicated and hardworking man, contributed over thirty years of his life to Bowman Farms, demonstrating unwavering commitment by never missing a single day of work. His industrious spirit and dedication left an indelible mark on those who worked alongside him.
Outside of the fields, Joe found solace in the simple joys of life. He had a deep love for fishing, often casting his line from the riverbank, where the calming waters provided a retreat. Alongside him in these moments was his faithful companion, Tiger, a loyal dog who shared in Joe’s love for the outdoors.
In both work and leisure, Joe’s life was characterized by diligence, love for nature, and the companionship of a cherished four-legged friend. As we remember Joe, we celebrate a life well-lived, one that exemplified the values of hard work, dedication, and a genuine appreciation for life’s quieter pleasures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Harold Hogan and his sister, Doris Beard.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Hogan of Newport.
Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2023, at Sandhill Cemetery.
