According to the Arkansas State Police, the victim was a passenger in a Chevrolet 2500 traveling south on State Highway 289, shortly after 1 a.m.
The state police fatality report said, “the vehicle lost control due to the ice-covered roadway,” crossed the centerline, traveled off the east side of the highway, and struck a concrete culvert before turning over on its driver’s side.
The name and age of the minor were not released by the Arkansas State Police. The driver of the vehicle was not injured, according to the report.
