William Grover “Junior” Jones Jr., 80, of Nelsonville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 20, 1943, in Nelsonville, Arkansas to William and Faye Jones. He was employed with the Arkansas Highway Department for 32-plus years. He was also a member of the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, collecting die-casting metal model cars and knives and riding back roads on the side-by-side. He traveled state-wide as a pavement marking supervisor and sign supervisor. Junior always said, “Even though I never had any children of my own, the Lord has blessed me with a large and loving family.”
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy; second wife, Joan; and third wife, Lula; his son, Mike Ring; one brother, Frank Jones; and one grandson, Shannon Martin.
He is survived by his sons, Tim Martin (Linda Break) and Jamie (Kathy) Martin; his daughters, Carla (Bernis) Medlock and Tammy Romero; and daughter in law, Ann Ring; his sister, Jackie Wilson; special nephew, Tony Jones (Sondra) and nephew, Stan Jones; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Boyce Johnson and Dr. Jerry Medlock officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery in Nelsonville, Arkansas with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Stacey and Tracy Jones, McAdam Martin, Traven Romero, Dalton Romero and Jamie Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Jones, Kenneth Seat, Tim Martin and Gaylon Mitchell.
