Norma Jean Tate, 90, of Batesville passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Batesville. She was born October 15, 1933, in Batesville, Arkansas to Roy and Wildie (Spencer) West. She was a factory worker and attended Weaver’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard sales and Hardee’s biscuits and gravy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, T.J. Tate; four brothers and five sisters.
She was survived by her sons, Gary Tate of Batesville, Arkansas and Ricky Tate (Robin) of Batesville, Arkansas; one daughter, Vickie Caldwell (Frankie) of Batesville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Shawn Caldwell (Kerri) of Batesville, Arkansas, Regan Caldwell of Florida, Tara Tate of Batesville, Arkansas and Matthew Tate (Samantha) of Batesville, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Blake Caldwell, Miranda McDonald, Bryr Tate and Kyrin Tate; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Weaver’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Sawrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the church.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Caldwell, Regan Caldwell, Matthew Tate, Lee Candler, Sanford Candler and Toby Candler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buck West, Hunter West, Wayne Martin and Perry Horn.
