Emma Voyles Emerson, 88, of Greenbrier passed away Friday, February 9, 2024.
She was born on November 16, 1935, in Pleasant Plains to David Richard Voyles and Laura Ethel (Adams) Voyles.
She was retired from Midland School District where she served many years as part of the lunchroom staff. After her retirement, she spent her time as a homemaker and by serving her Lord at Independence Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member for over 40 years. She was kind, loving, nurturing, and strong-willed. She loved to garden and do word search puzzles and work in coloring books.
Survivors include one daughter, Loria Stracener and her wife, Renita of Greenbrier; one granddaughter, Rachel McPherson and her husband, Ryan of Greenbrier; one great-granddaughter, Dakota Sharping and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bryce Emerson; one great-granddaughter, Emersyn Sharping; two brothers, Ted and Henry Voyles; and five sisters, Gracie Allen, Ida Beck, Nora Swaims, Maggie Hughes, and Lela Randles.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Friday, February 16, 2024, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at McMullin Cemetery in Pleasant Plains.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am Friday, February 16, 2024, before the service at the funeral home.
