Mattie ‶Marie″ Wortham, 57, was born on May 4, 1966, to Hazel (Pennington) Asher and Edward ‶Dee″ Pennington. She passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Marie was a great Sister, loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Wortham, her 7 children: Christina, Brian, Jason, Tasha, Justin (Allie), Cody, and Jerad (Laurie), her siblings: Linda Pennington, Bobby (Tony) Asher, Jimmy Asher, Kathy Johnson, and Mericka Crowl, her step-father, James Asher, 28 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. You could find Marie enjoying Hallmark or Lifetime movies, playing games on her phone and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and dogs. Marie looked forward to cooking holiday dinners and playing card games with her family. She was employed at Airtite for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel, her father Dee, her grandchild, Caseleigh McKellar, the father of her six children, Roger McKellar, her grandparents and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Visitation is Friday, February 16, 2024, at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until Service Time in the chapel. Service time will begin at 2:00 P. M. and family will serve as Active Pallbearers. The interment will be in Bolivar Cemetery.
