Cindy Parker, para-professional for Midland School District, was named Monday to receive the February Citizens Bank “Shine Like a Mustang” award.
Aiding in several different departments, the bank said in a media release that Parker “takes everything in stride. Her serving spirit brings her beyond the classroom. You may find her behind the wheel of a bus, helping in the cafeteria, or even helping during summer activities.”
Parker’s peers said of her:
- “Cindy Parker is such an asset to our school. She is open to do whatever is necessary to take care of our students and staff! She works in the high school during the school year, driving a school bus, and supporting our students with special needs. She works in the Early Childhood Program during the summer from the cafeteria to the classroom! And she helps with summer ball! She is always Shining like a Mustang.”
- “Cindy goes above and beyond for all the students. She works in the special education department and does amazing with all the students. She helps everyone anytime she’s asked. She also steps up and drives a bus whenever a sub is needed. She always has a smile on her face and a great attitude.”
With this program, “Citizens Bank and Midland School District aim to recognize staff members who shine in their role as a Mustang to live out the district’s vision to engage learning at high levels and embrace challenges without fear of failure,” the bank said in the release.
Staff nominate the award recipients who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Midland School Board meeting each month.
