The Independence County Library will host Batesville’s first “Fan Con” next weekend.
White River Fan Con, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and March 3, at the Library, will welcome special guests from the worlds of film, television, cosplay, anime, books, and podcasting. The all-ages event will also focus on comics and gaming. A cosplay contest and vendors offering all types of “geek items,” including books, art, jewelry, clothes, and more, will also be part of the fun. Performances and panels are also planned. All three library floors will host aspects of the convention, and all monies raised will go toward continuing the event and funding various aspects of the library’s operation.
White River Fan Con’s Joel Williams (pictured) sat down with White River Now’s Chad Whiteaker to discuss the big event. Listen to their conversation below, and scroll down for more information about the event and the special guests.
White River Fan Con is a Friends of the Library event sponsored in part by Lyon College, Fuller Bumpers Attorney at Law, Batesville Printing Co., and Willa Harkey.
