March is Arkansas Archaeology Month, and Lyon College is teaming with the Old Independence Regional Museum for a free archaeology event on Saturday, March 9.
Entitled “Reconstructing Daily Life with Archaeology,” attendees will enjoy activities and demonstrations focused on what day-to-day life was like for Native Americans in the area. The event will be held at the museum from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Dr. Jason Kennedy (pictured), assistant professor of anthropology at Lyon College, visited with White River Now’s Chad Whiteaker in the Greenway Equipment studios on Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ about the planned activities, as well as about archaeology in the north central Arkansas region.
The Old Independence Regional Museum is located at 380 S. 9th St. in Batesville.
