Darlene Jeanette Lindquist, 61, of Decatur, IL, died on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was born on September 24, 1962, in Arlington Heights, IL, to the late Charles Dewy Jones Sr. (Sgt., USMC) and Wilma Lois (Grenade) Jones. Darlene was a “real firecracker”. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She had a great sense of humor and loved to help people. Some of her hobbies include dancing, gardening, camping, hiking, fishing, DIY projects, and crafts. She also loved animals, especially her little dog, “Smokey”. But out of all her hobbies and passions, nothing meant more to her than her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Nevaeh. Darlene was the glue that held her family together, and she will be dearly missed and forever loved by everyone who was blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Charles Dewy Jones Jr.; and her little dog, “Smokey”. She is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Lindquist, and Andrea Castellanos; her two sisters, Sandra Burke, and Donna Neubauer; her beloved granddaughter, Nevaeh Castellanos; and several extended family members and friends.
