Stephen Thomas Brown (formerly Vincent Almont Masoner), age 70, passed away at his home on March 9th, 2024.
Stephen was one of 10 siblings and had 4 step-siblings. He grew up in Pine Bluff, AR where he enlisted in the Army in 1971, at the age of 17. He retired after 20 years of service. Stephen was stationed in Germany, twice, Japan and for a short time in Korea. When he retired in 1991, it was from the Seneca Army Depot in upstate NY. Stephen volunteered his time to the American Red Cross in Rochester, NY before moving back to Arkansas, in 2016.
Stephen is predeceased by his birth parents, Fernie & Minnie Masoner, his adoptive parents, Eva Lena & JT Brown, his sister Viola (Charlie Caldwell), and brothers Troy & Darrell.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Kara Beach, sons Stephen Jr & Larry (Jackie), daughter Emily Cespedes-Brown (Graciel Juliarte); Brothers Lloyd (Virgina), Floyd, David, Eddie, Elmer “Andy”; sister Mary (Dr. Charles Spellman), several nieces, nephews and friends.
At Stephen’s request, there will be no calling hours or services. There will be a private scattering of ashes. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, in Stephen’s memory.
