KTLO: Three killed, one injured after car leaves highway, becomes submerged in Lake Norfork

Tragic news from Mountain Home radio station KTLO: A 23-year-old Mountain Home mother and two of her children, ages seven and six months, died after their car left State Highway 101 near the Pigeon Creek bridge and went into Lake Norfork. Another child, 2, was injured in the accident and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.

The accident occurred shortly after noon on Wednesday.

KTLO noted emergency responders from the Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office (including their dive team), Baxter Health, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Arkansas State Police assisted at the scene.

KTLO said state police are still investigating the accident, and as of early Thursday morning, no official report had been released. The radio station reported that family members of those involved in the accident have released their names on social media. To read the full report from KTLO, click here.
