Christopher Lee Mitchell of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the age of 40. He was born September 1, 1983, the son of Jerry Mitchell and Tammy (Riley) Muir.
Christopher was a 2002 graduate of Newport High School. He worked in maintenance at Arkansas State University- Newport.
Christopher enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard and fishing. He liked working on computers. Christopher especially loved watching football and the time he spent with his dog, Struggle.
Christopher is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Mitchell; and one sister, Robin Bradford.
He is survived by his mother, Tammy (Riley) Muir, of Newport; one brother, Jason Mitchell, of Charlotte; one sister, Tia Bland and husband, Zach, of Paragould; his stepmother, Tina Burgess and husband, Jerry, of Grubbs; his aunts, Amber Emery, Patricia Mitchell of Missouri, and Brenda Mitchell of Missouri; his uncles, Cliff Riley and wife, Diana, of Oklahoma, Johnny Mitchell and wife, Debbie, of Amagon, and Jimmy Mitchell of Missouri; and nieces and nephews, Jalynn Bradford, Rilee Bradford, Jameson Mitchell, Gracie Pickle, and Madison Gillespie.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, March 18, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in White Lake Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brent Collom and Nathan Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Pettiee and Todd Ireland.
