An Izard County Jail inmate is back in custody after he walked away from a work detail early Saturday morning.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reported around 2 p.m. Saturday that Edward Allan Eastwood (pictured), 47, was back in custody after walking away from his work detail at the jail around 5:20 a.m.

According to the Spring River Chronicle, sheriff’s deputies from Sharp, Fulton, and Izard counties, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department’s helicopter unit, and the tracking dog team from Calico Rock’s North Central Unit worked together on the search. Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell told the Chronicle that Eastwood was taken into custody after the tracking dogs located him on foot by Agnos Road.

In January, Eastwood was sentenced to 216 months in prison for six felonies, including drug possession, aggravated assault, fleeing, and theft of property.
