Elizabeth Allen Teed, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, March 19th, at the age of 92. Elizabeth was born on December 22, 1931, in Stephens, Arkansas, to Frank M. and Mabel Nelle Starnes Allen. She graduated from Stephens High School in 1950 and attended Southern State College “SAU” in Magnolia, Arkansas before going to work for Stephens Bank. While working in Stephens, she met and married her husband of 57 years, Ralph Herman Teed, Jr., who was employed with AP&L. They went on to live in Pine Bluff and Little Rock and raise three sons. She spent 25 years working for Jerry Jones in Little Rock before retiring in 1997. She was a member of Chenal Valley Baptist Church in Little Rock. She enjoyed her church, square dancing, round dancing, playing bridge, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, music, flower gardening, cooking, decorating her home for holidays and entertaining her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Herman Teed, Jr., her parents, Frank and Mabel Nelle Allen, and two sisters, Virginia Phythian and Nelle Jane Dawson. She is survived by three children: Ralph A. Teed, Sr. of Newark, AR, Frank S. Teed (Sarah) of Arkadelphia, AR, and Paul A. Teed (Lee) of Searcy, AR; six grandchildren, Ralph Allen Teed, Jr. (Melyssa) of Batesville, AR, Sarah Teed Singer (Drew) of Hoboken, N.J., John (Catalina) Teed of Oakland, TN, Elizabeth Teed of Washington, D.C., Will Teed of Arkadelphia, AR, Catherine Teed Woodruff (Camdon) of Searcy, AR, Emily Teed of Round Rock, TX, Marlee Young of Fayetteville, AR, and Madison Graham (J.P.) of Knoxville, TN; and 5 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, friend, and member of her church and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, AR. A private family graveside celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at The Teed Cemetery in Newark, AR on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.
