Tom Loal McAdams, Sr., of Batesville, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the age of 70. He was born January 27, 1954, in Newport, the son of Lacy and Paulene (Sample) McAdams.
Mr. McAdams earned a Degree in Ministry from White’s Ferry Road School of Biblical Studies in West Monroe, Louisiana in 1980. He was a Church of Christ minister who served at congregations in Arkansas and Missouri over the past 40 years.
Mr. McAdams had a passion for restoring old vehicles and driving fast cars. He was a man of diverse interests and spent his time riding motorcycles, drawing, painting, and gardening. Mr. McAdams enjoyed raising and riding horses and practicing Taekwondo. He also loved watching Western and martial arts movies.
Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by one son, Tommy L. McAdams, Jr; three brothers, Ronnie, Harry, and Bill McAdams; a niece, Laura Reed; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mae (Wilson) McAdams of Batesville; two daughters, Tabitha McAdams of Bono, and Cassey Tune and husband, Randy of Manila; two sons, Justin Carter and wife, Jenevieve of Melbourne, and Brandon Carter and wife, Kristy of Melbourne; twelve grandchildren, Hunter Tune, Kyle McAdams and wife, Alyissa, Dylan Russell and wife, Madison, Alexa Carter, McKenzie Owens, Chloe Carter, Zeke Davis, Laken McAdams, Blaine Carter, Madison Tune, Ava Carter, and Laela Crites; two great-grandchildren, Mena and Topanga McAdams; one brother, Jim McAdams of Thida; three sisters, Paulette Qualls of Bradford; Meta Cunningham and husband, Donnie of Saffel, and Rita McAdams and Rick of Memphis; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
The funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Church at Remmel, located at 431 AR 145, Newport. The service will be officiated by Judge Jeff Phillips. Friends and family may visit at the church from 2:00 p.m. Friday, until service time. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, located at 1645 Floral Road, Floral, AR.
After the service, the McAdams family will have dinner at the Pleasant Plains Community Center.
