Dennis “Buddy” Ray Tarpley Jr, 49, of Rosie died on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was born on May 31, 1974, in New Ulm, Germany, to Dennis Ray Tarpley Sr. and Norma Elaine (McBride) Tarpley. He was of Christian faith. Buddy loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, fishing, canoeing, and just being out on the lake or riverbank. He also liked hanging out with his friends and shooting pool. But above all else, he loved his family, especially his children. Buddy will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Buddy is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jennye Wells; his maternal grandparents, Avner and Adrienne McBride; and his paternal grandparents, Lynn and Doris Tarpley. He is survived by his parents, Dennis Tarpley Sr., and Norma Tarpley; his daughter, Kaycie Swaim (Trace); his 5 sons, Dakota Tarpley (Angela), Gentry Tarpley, Gauge Tarpley, Jackson Tarpley, and Elijah Tarpley; his sister, Dorene Henley; his granddaughter, Jenevieve Swaim; his niece, Zaren Henley; his two nephews, Austin Henley and Forrest Henley; and many extended family members and friends.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. The visitation will be Monday night, May 6, 2024, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Bro. Curt Howard, will be held at Maple Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark, AR. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, Josh Hahn, Ralph Foster, Pistol Carol, Braydon White, Jason Knuckles, and Randal Hooper. The family would like to recognize the following people as honorary pallbearers, all of Buddy’s sons, Dakota, Gentry, Gauge, Jackson, and Elijah; and Tommy Hamilton.
