Local employees from Optimum, a provider of internet, mobile, TV and phone services, recently replaced the American flag in front of the City of Batesville’s “Welcome” sign.

Mayor Rick Elumbaugh (center) joined for the flag replacement ceremony.

According to a media release from Optimum, this effort is part of Optimum’s Stars & Stripes initiative, which identifies and replaces faded, tattered, or ripped American flags flown outside homes and businesses at no cost to the property owner. Local Optimum employees will look for American flags that need replacement as they are on their daily routes.
