Loyal Jerome Scott Jr., 57, of Jonesboro departed this life on Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was born September 27, 1966, to Loyal Jerome Scott Sr. and Learlee Spearman Scott.
He found joy in a variety of activities, including horseback riding, cooking, and playing basketball. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, often running them around to their various destinations. Professionally, he contributed his skills to computer work at Dell, showcasing his technical expertise and dedication to his career. Whether engaging in outdoor pursuits or pursuing his professional endeavors, he approached each task with enthusiasm and commitment. His love for his family and his passions defined his life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyal Jerome Scott Sr., and Learlee Spearman Scott and his brothers, Jackie Lynn Scott, Jeffrey Lewis Scott, Billy Joe Scott, and Michael Earl Scott.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Scott; his daughters, Tenica Scott and fiancé Michael Winston of Newport, and Aneisa Woods (Tyease) of Little Rock; his son, Mario Gist (Nan) of Newport; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Katherine Scates and John Scates of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Kenyon Cox of Newport, Makaylie Gist of Newport, Ryann Gist of Newport, Cardarian Stuart of Little Rock, and Ca’Myia Stuart of Little Rock; his aunt, Dulcie Lee Scott of Newport; his uncle, William Scott of Newport; and his cousin, Troy Hayes of Houston, Texas and a host of other cousins.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Tyease Woods, Ced Stuart, John Scates, Tony Burton, Kelly Burton, and Wendell Green.
Service will be at 11:00 on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time. The interment will be at Gum Grove Cemetery.
