Burnell McClure Jr., known by all as Mac, was born in Batesville, Arkansas on Nov. 27, 1948. He was born to parents Burnell McClure Sr and Florence McClure.
Mac spent his career serving the community as a master plumber for McClure Plumbing, Inc. This family business was started by Mac’s father, and together they built it into a successful company. Mac continued in this role after his father’s passing, mentoring countless individuals in the plumbing trade, including his nephew Corey Ward, and grandson Matthew McClure, who are carrying on Mac’s legacy at McClure Plumbing today.
He is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Ashley McClure.
Mac is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Hughes McClure; his sister Laura Grace; his two sons, Chad McClure & Wesley McClure; and his grandchildren Mallory McClure, Matthew McClure & Annie McClure; as well as a niece and nephews.
Mac lived a life of hard work and honesty and was loved by those who knew him. A man of few words but when he spoke, people listened and were better for it. Mac will be missed by many but most especially his family.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Paul Seay officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
