Beth Stephens Newberry, 79, of Batesville passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.
She was born December 12, 1944, in Dallas, Texas to Carrol Jean and Lavelle F. (Gibson) Stephens.
Beth was a strong, determined, and generous woman who was always smiling and grateful. She was a joyful survivor of many tumultuous situations. She was an avid reader and also loved online word games. Beth loved going to the Polk Bayou, sitting by the fire, and making s’mores and hot dogs. She loved collecting anything turtle and had quite a collection of turtle figurines.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Adams (Darin) of Batesville; one brother, David Stephens of Tyler, Texas; four sisters, Carolyn Roberson of Alba Golden, Texas, Cora Beaty (Ted) of Mineola, Texas, Barbara Hawkins of West Plains, Missouri, Norma Jean Bradford (Barney) of Porterville, California; two half-sisters, Della Biesenthal (David) of Wheaton, Kansas, Debbie Griggs (Blaine) of Nevada, Missouri and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron Newberry, and a daughter, Ronota Newberry Woodbridge.
A party to celebrate Momma Beth’s life will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the Fellowship Bible Church from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm.
