Shawn Junior Gott, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 4, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1966, in Ukiah, California to the late Junior Gott and Shairon (Williams) Gott. Shawn was an Associate Procurement Technologist at Future Fuel for thirty-five years, where he made many friends. He was always a hard worker, making sure his family had everything they needed. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and when he wasn’t working, he could be found on a lake. Carpentry was his hobby in his free time. He enjoyed watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys play football. Shawn coached his kids, nieces, and nephews’ football and softball teams. When he wasn’t coaching, he was always there to support them in whatever they were doing, even if it was pageants. Shawn was a fighter, battling many medical conditions over the last year, and never giving up. Above all else, Shawn loved his family, especially spending time with his grandbabies. Family was his life.
Shawn is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Teonia (Cook) Gott; son, Shawn Tyler Gott; daughter, Brittney Wilder (Josh); grandchildren, Taysia Wilkey, Aaliyah Wilder, and Lily Gott; brother, Johnny Gott Sr.; sisters, Rhonda Branscum (Donald) and Shawna Branscum (Jimmy); mother-in-law, Betty Cook; brother-in-laws, Jamie Cook (Kelley) and Richard Schilling; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sonya Schilling and Tonyaleea Gott; and sister-in-law, Debra Gott.
There will be a Visitation held at Willis Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 1 PM until 2 PM. The Memorial Service, officiated by Richard Sparks, will follow at 2 PM.
