Kerri Grace (pictured above, center), a first-grade teacher at Southside Elementary School, has been awarded a Parsons-Burnett Grant by the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association (ARTA).
Grace, who earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Arkansas State University and her master’s degree with a reading and dyslexia endorsement from Harding University, is currently pursuing an educational specialist degree in principalship at Arkansas State University.
She plans to use the grant to fund her remaining two courses.
The Parsons-Burnett Grant is for current certified educators to further their own education. It is funded by contributions from ARTA members, a professional organization of Arkansas’s public education retirees.
