The operation, named “Operation Ice Stone,” began in January 2023 and was led by Detective Justin Meeks under the direction of the Stone County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release from Sheriff Brandon Long, the investigation, which included undercover operations and the use of confidential informants, identified 30 suspects involved in drug trafficking.

During the round-up, which started at 7 a.m., multiple search warrants were served at various residences, resulting in several arrests. Some of the individuals sought were already incarcerated on unrelated charges.

Assisting agencies included the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, Independence County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Probation and Parole, Arkansas Game and Fish, Mountain View Police Department, Heber Springs Police Department, Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Department of Finance Beverage Control, and Greers Ferry Police Department.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to these agencies for their assistance. Detective Meeks received special commendation for his efforts in targeting drug dealers during the operation.

Law enforcement continues to search for nine individuals connected to the investigation. Information on their whereabouts can be directed to Detective Meeks at (870) 269-3825. Authorities encourage these individuals to turn themselves in to the Sheriff’s Office.
