Marie Geraldine Carter Zelasko, 98, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed from this world in Batesville, AR on June 15, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1926, in Sulphur Rock, Arkansas, to W. E. and Nora Boling Carter.
Geraldine was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jack Zelasko, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. Together, they created a beautiful family built on hard work, honesty, and faith in Christ. She had a strong faith and gave selflessly of her time and resources to her Church and family. She also was an amazing cook and created cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Geraldine was a loving and caring mother to her two children, Mike Zelasko (Jana) and Jeff Zelasko (Angela), both of Batesville. She was a source of strength and support for her children throughout their lives.
Geraldine was also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Amanda Dickey (Bryan), Jennifer Zelasko, Stephen Zelasko, Chris Zelasko (Tricia), and Jessica Moore (Rick), all of Batesville. She found immense joy in the presence of her grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.
In addition to her grandchildren, Geraldine was blessed with six great-grandchildren and delighted in their achievements and successes in life.
She also enjoyed being an aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family. She was a prayer warrior for all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Jack Zelasko, and siblings: Paul Carter, Guy Carter, Pauline Keene, Raye Cox, Bertha Hite, Imogene Wilkins, and Winnie Fudge.
The pallbearers will be Stephen Zelasko, Chris Zelasko, Bryan Dickey, Ethan Grant, Eli Grant, and Randall Coe. Clay Hooper and Rick Moore will serve as honorary pallbearers, honoring her memory.
Services will be held at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, with a visitation at 9:00 followed by a celebration of life at 10:00. Burial to be at the Harvison/Carter Cemetery in Sulphur Rock, Arkansas following services. Officiating will be Brother Kenneth Light.
Geraldine will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for years to come.
