Ried named interim superintendent for Cedar Ridge School District

The Cedar Ridge Board of Education has appointed Roger Ried as the interim superintendent for the district to start the 2024-2025 school year. He will assume the position on July 1.

The district’s outgoing superintendent, Tracey Owens, recently announced her retirement.

Ried, who retired as the principal of Southside after 29 years in April of 2020, has 33 years of experience in education.

He has been married to his wife, Kathy, for 39 years, and they share two children, Maggie and Luc, and one grandson, Rumi.

The Cedar Ridge School Board made the announcement on Thursday.
