Veneda Aline (Robertson) Swetnam, beloved mother and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on June 29th, 2024, surrounded by her devoted children. She was born on March 11th, 1940 in Mammoth Spring, AR, to Carl Lester and Edith (Standage) Robertson. Veneda’s life was a testament to her deep love for her family, which she held close to her heart throughout her journey.

Veneda is survived by her sons Gregory Gann of Mississippi, Martin (Tabtha) Gann of Ashtown, Arkansas, and Matthew (Sherry) Gann of Batesville, Arkansas. Her daughters Aleisa (Damon) Hodgens of Atlanta, Georgia, Diana Gann of Batesville, Arkansas, Sherry Marshall of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Chonalee Swetnam of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Her brothers, Robert Robertson, Harold Robertson, and Michael Robertson, all of Thayer, Missouri; her sisters, Carolyn Clark, of Hot Springs, and Patsy Hawkins, of Batesville.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Swetnam, her daughter-in-law Charlotte Gann, her grandson, Thomas Aaron Bridgman, her sisters, Kathryn Rogers and Francis Anderson, and her brother, James Oren Robertson.

Veneda leaves behind a legacy of love and family, with 17 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter, all of whom were the joy of her life. She will be remembered for her warmth, her readiness to share stories and pictures, and her unwavering love for her family.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Moten Cemetery, Highway 289, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
