Harold Leon Franks, 84, of Imboden passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Walnut Ridge. Mr. Franks was born June 10, 1940, to James Leon and Lois (Cude) Franks. Harold was the only child, after graduating from Newport High School in 1958 he went to work as a machine operator at Revere Copper and Brass. On September 24, 1962, he enlisted in the Army National Guard for six years where he received a badge for marksmanship expert. Shooting came naturally to him growing up as a kid because he loved to hunt. He loved the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and riding horses. His later years of activities were watching westerns, and playing guitar. He was a Mason in Lodge # 451 where he became Past Master Mason in 1996. Mr. Harold lived in a lot of different places throughout his life but always called Newport his home.
Mr. Franks is survived by his special friends, Rick and Sharon Peek and his dog Bullet. A special thanks to his dedicated aides Debbie Crisp and Mary Miller from Superior Senior Care.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport.
