Surrounded by her family, DeDee Sederberg of Batesville, Arkansas, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 4, 2024. She fought a very brave battle with cancer, and God sought to give her complete healing by bringing her home to Heaven.
She was born on June 7, 1964, to loving parents, Gene and Erma Barnett, of Batesville, Arkansas. DeDee lived and thrived in Batesville her entire life. She met the love of her life, Rick Sederberg, on a blind date in 1990 and they were married in 1991. Rick and DeDee raised three children, Danielle, Tyler, and Hayley.
DeDee’s love of nutrition was found in her enthusiasm for healthy living and operating the GNC franchise for 25 years. When she wasn’t at her GNC store, you would find her perched at Morningside Coffeehouse or under the pavilion by her pool. With her husband Rick at her side, they thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world and seeing God’s creation in many different countries. These moments were a constant delight in her life. DeDee’s children and grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy.
DeDee met the Lord Jesus Christ in her early 20s. Her passion for the Lord grew deep and her belief in the power of prayer was, and still is, an inspiration to many of us. She attended Southside Assembly of God for 32 years before joining her children at Fellowship Bible Church for her final 7 years. She could be found modeling the love of Christ and teaching Sunday School to generations of children, teens, and adults. She was available at all hours for her students to share their burdens and shower them with the love of Christ.
DeDee is survived by her parents, Gene and Erma Barnett; husband, Rick; her children; Danielle Adams and husband, Troy; Tyler Pruett and wife, Jennifer; and Hayley Sederberg. Her brothers, Cliff Barnett and wife Connie; Tom Barnett and wife, Michele. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lance, Chase, Elaina, Abby, Imajean, JoJo, Lillie, Shiloh, and Honor; and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of DeDee’s life will be held at Fellowship Bible Church on Saturday, July 13th at noon led by Pastor Steve Morris. There will be a private family burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to Alpha Center, Inc. 2131 Fitzhugh St. Batesville, AR 72501
