Obituary: Betty Jo Cansler

Betty Jo Cansler, 75, of McCrory departed this life on July 9, 2024.  She was born in Newport on February 18, 1949, to Oscar and Delphia Dellia (Fain) Carter.

Betty enjoyed a rich and fulfilling life, filled with a variety of activities that brought her joy. She loved flea marketing, fishing, and camping, always eager for the next adventure. Cooking and gardening were her passions, and she found immense pleasure in nurturing her garden and preparing delicious meals. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them. Betty was married to her late husband, Jimmy Cansler, for 49 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Her vibrant spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Cansler; her son, James Cansler; her brothers, Billy Jones, Max Carter, and Elisha Carter; her sister, Roberta Conway; nephews, Loyd Jones, Shane Dunn, Charlie Carter Jr., Jessie Lynn Conway, and Other Conway.

She is survived by her grandchildren, James Henry Cansler (Kynley) of Cherry Valley, Taylor Paige Cansler Roseberry (Timothy) of Fair Oaks, and Lane Allen Cansler (Venida) of McCrory; her brother, Charlie Carter (Leah) of Beebe; her sisters, Elesie Easley of Newport, and Lois Sholl (David) of Anchorage, Alaska;  daughter in law, Amanda Cansler Heath of Augusta; her great grandchildren, Amberleigh Roseberry, and Houston Roseberry; her nephews, Michael Sholl of Anchorage, Alaska and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Anthony Moss Jr., Anthony Moss Sr., Terrance Tarwater, Timothy Roseberry, Trevor Moss, Jacob Plummer.  Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Carter, Nicholas Jones, and Michael Conway.

Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024.  The interment will be at Coffeyville Cemetery.
