An Independence County man is being held on a $1 million bond after being arrested on two felony counts.

According to documents filed in Independence County Circuit Court on Monday, authorities were called to a residence early Sunday morning regarding an unresponsive individual, who was later transferred to White River Medical Center for treatment. Upon arrival, deputies found the individual had also been “the victim of a sexual assault,” the court information said.

While on the scene, Bobby Joe Fisher III, 49, was detained and transported to the Independence County Jail.

According to the court documents, witnesses on the scene were taken to the sheriff’s department for interviews on Sunday while Lt. Zach Rawlins interviewed Fisher at the jail on Monday.

On Monday afternoon, Fisher was charged with one felony count of rape and one felony count of incest. He is currently incarcerated at the Independence County Jail.
