David C. LeClair, 78, of Fox, Arkansas passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, surrounded by family. David was born on April 17, 1946, in Portland, Maine to the late Paul and Vera (Hastings) LeClair.

David was a veteran of the United States Army and in the military infantry where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. As a Pvt. 1st Class, David was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with V Device on May 29, 1966, while serving in Vietnam. His award read ”For heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force.”. He was serving as a rifleman participating in search and clear operations with elements of his platoon. After clearing their assigned area, the platoon elements were suddenly brought under intense machine guns, small arms and mortar fire which pinned down Private LeClair’s squad. Despite the volume of fire the enemy directed against him and with complete disregard for his own safety, Private First Class LeClair left his position to administer first aid to fallen comrades.

David was the epitome of a family man, he loved his wife and family and spending time with them gave him true joy out of life. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He considered his service to God and America some of his greatest accomplishments.

David continued his work caring for others in the healthcare industry as a security counselor for the handicapped and will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Dianne (Prevatt) LeClair; two stepsons, Edward and Robert Wilkey both of Fox, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Vera (Hastings) LeClair; four brothers and one sister.
