James “Jim” Alfred Becker, 83, of Locust Grove, AR, died on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Jim was born on July 7, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Ralph Becker and Lilian (Larsen) Becker. Jim graduated from Sea Breeze High School in Daytona Beach, FL, Class of 1960. After high school, Jim joined the US Army, where he served his country honorably as a Combat Engineer in Alaska, all the way through to retirement. After his military service, Jim went on to work for the State of Alaska Department of Corrections. He was a correctional officer for over 20 years, earning his retirement there as well. Some of Jim’s favorite hobbies included: fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, camping, and after moving to Florida, buying and riding his motorcycle. Jim also loved watching football and hanging out with his former classmates, the Sea Breeze SandCrabs Lunch Group and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jim was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed to know him.
Jim is preceded in death by both of his parents; his two brothers, Bob Becker and Dick Becker; and his son, Jimmy Becker. He is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Necia Becker; his son, Kevin Sbrusch (Angel); his two daughters, Crystal Mitchell (Albert), and Kellie Espinoza; his 10 grandchildren: Brandon, Hollie, Amanda, Melanie, Kayla, Derek, Noah, Ashley, Dodge, and Reese; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
