Obituary: Frances Lucille (Lingo) Decker

Frances Lucille (Lingo) Decker of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born August 5, 1938, in Lynn, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert and Beulah (Duncan) Lingo.

Mrs. Decker graduated from Swifton High School in 1957. She worked at the shoe factory and later at Walmart for 13 years before retiring.

Mrs. Decker enjoyed knitting and baking sourdough bread. She loved her little community, and the people of Swifton adored her as well.

She was a dedicated, long-time Swifton First Assembly of God member. She would send cards to the sick and make quilt tops for missionaries. On Christmas Sundays, it was a tradition for Mrs. Decker to tell the Christmas Story to the children of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Berry Decker, Jr; four brothers, Joe, Tommy, Edward, and William Robert Lingo; two sisters, Vinita Slagley and Juanita Crays; and her parents.

Mrs. Decker is survived by two sons, Alan Decker and wife, Rhonda of Jonesboro and Jerry Decker and wife, Paula of Hoxie; seven grandchildren, Aaron Decker, Austin Decker and wife, Haley, Aubrey Decker, Blaine Liscomb and wife, Taylor, Brianna Walls and husband, Jimmy, Spencer Decker, and Alana Decker; three great-grandchildren, Titus, Jude, and Zion; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at Swifton First Assembly of God on Monday, August 5, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at the church on Monday at 2:00 p.m., with interment at Swifton Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Blaine Liscomb, Aaron Decker, Spencer Decker, Lane Smith, Rob Slagley, Michael Allen, Robby Slagley, and Aubrey Decker.
