First Community Bank has announced Skyla George’s promotion to head teller at the organization’s downtown Batesville branch.

“I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity,” said George (pictured above). “I am thankful for all the amazing mentorship I have received from so many at the bank. I have been supported with every step I have taken. I am excited to serve all of Main Street and the surrounding areas by giving them a true and personal community bank experience. There is nothing better than seeing a smile on a customer’s face because you solved their problem and made their day just a little better. I aim to get us more involved with all things Main Street: fundraisers, events, and businesses. The future is bright for downtown.”

George’s supervisor, Kenny Gerhardt, senior vice president, teller operations manager, expressed confidence in her new role.

“Skyla has shown exceptional dedication and growth since she joined our team. Her commitment to providing outstanding service and her passion for community involvement make her an ideal fit for this position. We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make,” Gerhardt said.

George began her career at First Community Bank as a life and health insurance customer service representative in 2023 before transitioning to the role of teller. She holds a life and health insurance license and draws on her five years of experience as a teacher to effectively communicate with the bank’s customers.

In addition to her professional achievements, George is active in her community with several area non-profits. In her free time, she enjoys reading, tending to house plants, and spending time outdoors. However, her favorite pastime is spending time with her three-year-old daughter, Henley.

First Community Bank’s downtown Batesville branch is located at 301 E. Main Street.
