Ozarka College has initiated a formal search for its next president. Dr. Richard Dawe (pictured), who has served as president since 2009, will retire in December, a release from the college said.

Under Dawe’s leadership, the college experienced substantial growth, including a campus expansion in Fulton County and new buildings on its Melbourne and Mountain View campuses. Dawe also spearheaded the opening of technical centers in Ash Flat and Mountain View and facilitated the acquisition of student housing units. Under his leadership, several new academic programs were launched, including agriculture, diesel service technology, information systems technology, precision machining, skilled trades, surgical technology, welding, and aviation-commercial pilot.

“On behalf of the entire board, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Dawe for his exemplary service and unwavering dedication to our college. His leadership and vision have profoundly impacted our institution, guiding us through years of growth and success,” said Ozarka College Board of Trustees Chair Fred Holzhauer. “As Dr. Dawe embarks on his well-deserved retirement, we wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life. His legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.”

A search committee, chaired by Ozarka College Vice President and Chief Information Officer Scott Pinkston, will chair the search committee, which also includes key campus community members and local leaders.
