Vital Link Ambulance Service has announced the graduation of Paramedic Supervisor Daniel Ward from the Ambulance Service Manager (ASM) Program.
Ward, a seasoned medic with over 18 years at Vital Link, makes significant contributions to the management team and is highly regarded by the entire staff, the service said in a release.
The ASM program, presented by Fitch and Associates, offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications. The program’s faculty consists of experts in EMS leadership and current leaders from successful systems. Participants work on developing leadership skills, addressing gaps, and building professional networks.
During the program, Ward and his team focused on the challenges of employee recruitment and retention in the EMS industry. Their research highlighted compensation, benefits, and work culture as the top factors influencing job applications and employee retention.
Ward expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to attend the ASM program and is eager to apply his new knowledge at Vital Link.
“Providing excellent patient care is always our top priority. In order to take the best care of our patients, we also need to take care of our employees. I’m proud to be able to help foster a work environment that does just that,” Ward said.
Kenny Tosh, another representative of Vital Link, emphasized the company’s commitment to training and education.
“Vital Link has consistently prioritized training and education, including leadership development. Expecting an outstanding medic to become an effective supervisor without the right tools is unrealistic. We are extremely proud of our entire staff and management team, and specifically want to recognize Daniel and his hard work during the ASM program,” Tosh said.
