William Paul Ferguson of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born November 30, 1960, in Newport, Arkansas, the son of Claud and Judy (Gosser) Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Marjorie Ferguson; and his parents.
Paul is survived by two brothers, David Ferguson and wife, Rinetta, and Mark Ferguson and honorary sister-in-law, Susan Davis; two sisters, Donna Larue and husband, James, and Melissa Ward and husband, David; eight nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Paul was a Tuckerman High School Graduate. He was a retired custodian from the Jackson County School District. He was active in the Tuckerman Faith Assembly of God Church from a small child. He loved working with the youth group and teaching Sunday School.
Paul marched to the beat of his own drum. He never once met a stranger and could strike up a conversion with anyone he saw. He loved playing Scrabble with his mom and at times, it felt like a high-stakes competition. He was an avid reader and collected books across all genres, and he always wanted to know what his loved ones had been reading lately. Much to the chagrin of his friends and family, Paul loved a good, cheesy joke. He also enjoyed going to yard sales, and he never left a bargain behind. Above all else, Paul loved his family. His favorite times of the year were when the whole family was together in the same place. Paul called each of his siblings at least once a week without fail. Paul was a loving uncle, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Tuckerman Faith Assembly of God Church. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Brandon Gates officiating. The interment will be in Dowell’s Chapel Cemetery.
Arrangements by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
